22 Monday Ankurarpanam at 7 p.m.

Ankuararpanam essentially means “sowing the seed”. The essence of this ritual is to make a sankalpa to celebrate a utsavam( festival) and get the grace of the Lord. Sastras prescribe doing ankurarpana 9 days before the festival. If this is not possible at least 7,5,3 days before the main festival ankurarpana should be done.
Ankurarpanam (planting 9 grains in soil placed in earthen dishes). Kankanadharanam (wrist band) to Utsava Muthi and priests.Procession of Vishvaksenar (Commander-in-chief of Vishnu's army). Mritsangrahanam- Collecting the soil for Kalyanotsava Yagna(Hawan, Fire ceremony) Peetam. Vishvaksenar returns from procession and enters the Yaga Shaala (Place where Yagnam is conducted), where he is received with Poorna Kumbham honor (special Pot filled with water). He is believed to be the Pradhana Yajaman (Chief conductor) of this Yagnam.

     
23 Tuesday Bhishma Ekadasi

    Dwajarohanam at 12 p.m.

`Dwajarohanam` marks start of Kalyana Mahotsavam Dwajarohanam is performed on Friday at 12 p.m in the temple, signalling the commencement of the annual Kalyana Mahotsavam. The sacred yellow cloth flag with the imprint of Lord Garuda, the celestial carrier of Lord Maha Vishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post, ‘Dwajasthambham’ situated inside the temple complex between 12.00 p.m. and 2 p.m. amidst the traditional recitation of Vedic hymns by temple priests to the accompaniment of the temple drum beats and nadaswaram that echoed all across the sacred hills. Earlier, the priests carried out special rituals such as ‘Abhishekam’,‘Naivedhyam’,‘Baliharanam’, and ‘Mangala harathi’ to the idol of Lord Garuda embossed on the pedestal of the 60-feet high majestic Dwajasthambham. Scores of Vedic pundits recited hymns from the scriptures, eulogising the valour and courage of the king of all
birds ­Lord Garuda.

Narasimha Avatara Vaibhavam at 3 p.m.
Rathotsavam at 4 p.m.

Rathotsavam is one of the greatest event of Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar in Puttakonda. One must see that, the way of God will enter into the Ratham (Chariot). It is such a wonderful to watch Lord Narasimhar on this day. The chariot is pulled along by devotees, who chant Jai Narasimha! Jai Jai Narasimha! It is believed that those who witness Rathotsavam will not be reborn.

     
    Garuda Vahana Seva at 10 p.m.

After the Rathotsavam in the night, the Lord Balaji and his consorts are seated on Garuda Vahana. Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar seated on another vahana called Pallaki Vahana. In the Vaishnava Puranas, Garuda is also called periyatiruvadi, meaning the first devotee. Therefore, Lord Venkateswara selected Garuda as his vehicle for the most important day of the Kalyanotsavam. Garuda Vahana is the greatest of all the Vahanas.

25 Thursday Sadasyam
Gaja Vahana Seva at 4 p.m.

In the evening, the Lord is mounted on the Gaja Vahana, (Gajam-Elephant). It can be attributed to the elephant in Gajendramoksham (story from the Mahabhaghavatam), which is saved from a crocodile by Lord Vishnu. Therefore, the Lord is taken in a procession seated on a Gaja Vahana during Kalyanotsavams.

     
26 Friday Vanamahotsavam

Aswa Vahanam at 4 p.m.
Aswam (Horse), a symbol of energy, means ‘One Who Runs Fast’. Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimhar travels on a horse when he goes for Vanamahotsavam. In Hindu mythology the Horse is associated with Kalki, the tenth avatara of Lord Vishnu. Symbolically, the horse mounted deity would replace the old order with a new one.The Aswa Vahana epitomized leaping and vaulting. Hence one who would enjoy the glowing presence of the Lord on Aswa Vahana would feel the leap of faith and exults over.

     
27 Saturday Chakra Teertham

Poornahuti and Choornotsavam at 7 a.m.

ChakraTertham (Teerthavaari) at 10 a.m.

Pallaki Seva and Chakrasnana Mahotsavam in the morning and Dhwaja Avarohanam are performed in the evening. The processional images are anointed with oil, turmeric powder and other auspicious ingredients and Abhishekam is performed. Sudarsan Chakram is given a bath in the Tulya Bhaga River. The Garuda flag is then lowered.

Chorotsavam (Chora Samvadam) - Tirumangai Alwar Vaibhavam at 9 p.m.

     
28 Sunday Sri Pushpa Yagam

Dwadasarchana and Saptavaran at 8 p.m.

Pavalimpu seva (Darpana or Ekanta seva)
